Egypt’s Housing & Development Bank was established 35 years ago; in 1979, as an arm of the Ministry of Housing. At the time of its launch, it had a clear mandate to finance moderate housing units for Egyptians, while also bridging the gap between supply and demand in the nation’s real estate market.
